Hannula & Halom is especially qualified to help professional truckers. When truckers get injured--we know what to do. Checklist for trucking injuries
- Follow your company's accident reporting guidelines.
- Exchange information with the other driver: name, address, telephone number, driver's license number, tag number, and insurance information.
- Get the names and contact information (address and telephone number) of all witnesses. Write down all other vehicle tag numbers.
- Photograph the vehicles at the accident scene--use your cell phone if necessary. Return later, if necessary to photograph skid marks or other signs of the accident.
- If injured, seek immediate medical attention.
- Photograph any injuries--again use your cell phone if necessary.
- Follow through with all medical treatment and care keep a record of your medical treatment.
- Notify your insurance carrier and your employer.
- Keep a record of all lost wages.
- Keep all bills, receipts and documents regarding your out-of-pocket expenses.
- Get a copy of the police accident report and any police photos.
- Do not admit fault and do not speak with the other driver's insurance company or their lawyer.

Gary J. Halom is a 1974 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a 1981 graduate of William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota.
Ryan graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2007. Since his admission to the Wisconsin Bar in October 2007, he has represented clients in serious motor vehicle accidents and landowners in condemnation litigation.
Shelly Stilson has been with Hannula & Halom since 1999. She specializes in assisting our clients in obtaining Worker's Compensation and Social Security benefits. Sheely received her Associate of Arts Degree from Hibbing Community College and her Paralegal Certification from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
